Their study shows that even though Connecticut did not see its home prices surge dramatically in 2017, median sale prices grew in 25 of the top 50 most expensive zip codes, with eight zip codes in the state witnessing a double-digit growth.

Here are some of PropertyShark's key findings:

-- Stamford, the third largest city in the Constitution State, has five of its six zip codes in the top 50 most expensive zips in Connecticut.

(Stamford's 06901 was the city's only zip code that didn't make it into the top ranking.)

-- Stamford's 06902 saw the second largest sales volume in Connecticut, as it closed 513 sales in 2017, at a median price of $368,500.

-- Greenwich’s 06830 steals the show as the #1 most expensive zip code in Connecticut. Its median sale price expanded by 16 percent, reaching a median price of $1,597,500.

-- South Kent takes gold as the fastest rising zip code in Connecticut in 2017, as it saw a huge appreciation in median sale price: by a startling 48 percent.

-- Seven Connecticut zips featured median sales above the $1 million mark

-- Fairfield’s 06824 saw the highest sales activity with 540 transactions
